Dumbbell Deep Push-Up and Renegade Row

A deep push-up on two dumbbells followed by a row of each bell in turn, the plank held square throughout.

How to do it

Setup

High plank, hands on two dumbbells under the shoulders, feet wide.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest between the bells into a deep push-up and press up.
  2. Row one bell to the hip and set it down.
  3. Row the other, then start the next push-up.

Common mistakes

Hips swinging with each row: widen the feet and brace before pulling. Cutting the push-up short to get to the rows: full depth first. Bells rolling out from under the hands: flat-sided dumbbells on a firm floor.

Breathing

Exhale on the press and on each row.
