Bodyweight Kneeling Push-Up Row

A push-up from the knees with an unloaded row at the top: one hand leaves the floor and draws the elbow back to the hip before the next rep.

How to do it

Setup

Knees on the floor behind the hips, hands a little wider than the shoulders, body in one line from the head to the knees.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest toward the floor and press back to straight arms.
  2. At the top, lift one hand and row that elbow back to the hip.
  3. Set the hand down and alternate arms from rep to rep.

Common mistakes

Hips twisting as the hand leaves the floor: widen the knees and brace. Rowing before the arms are straight: finish the press, then row. Hips sagging through the push-up: keep the head-to-knees line.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale pressing and rowing.
