Cable Half-Kneeling Push Pull

Half-kneeling between two cables at chest height, press one handle forward while the other hand rows its handle back; the hips hold still against both.

How to do it

Setup

Half-kneeling midway between the stacks, cables at chest height; the front hand holds the cable from in front on a long arm, the rear hand holds the cable from behind at the chest.

Steps

  1. Press one handle forward as the other rows back to the ribs.
  2. Keep the hips and the front knee still while the trunk resists the twist.
  3. Return both handles slowly, finish the set, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

Hips rotating with the arms: squeeze the glute of the down knee and brace. Press and row out of time: they start and finish together. Letting the cables pull you back: control both handles on the return.

Breathing

Exhale on the push and pull, inhale returning.
