Dumbbell Kneeling Twist Down-Up Raise

Half-kneeling, one dumbbell in both hands travels from low beside the front knee up across the body to overhead on the other side.

How to do it

Setup

Half-kneeling, back knee down, one dumbbell held by the handle in both hands beside the front knee.

Steps

  1. Lift the bell up and across the body, turning the chest with it.
  2. Finish with the arms straight overhead on the far side.
  3. Lower it along the same diagonal back to the front knee.

Common mistakes

Hips turning with the bell: keep them square over the down knee. Arching back to get the bell overhead: ribs down, lighter bell. Front knee caving as you turn: point it over the toes.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
