Dumbbell Incline Reverse-Grip 30 Degrees Bench Press

The dumbbell press on a low incline with the palms turned toward the face; the grip keeps the elbows in.

How to do it

Setup

Bench at about 30°, bells at the shoulders, palms facing the face.

Steps

  1. Press the bells up to straight arms over the chest.
  2. Keep the palms turned toward you all the way.
  3. Lower to the shoulders, elbows close to the body.

Common mistakes

Palms turning back to the usual grip: the reverse grip is the variant. Letting the bells tip toward the face: keep the handles level. Bench steeper than about 30°: the shoulders take over.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
