Dumbbell Incline Press on Stability Ball
The incline dumbbell press lying back on a ball with the hips low instead of on a bench; the trunk sets the angle and holds it.
How to do it
Setup
Upper back on the ball, hips below the shoulders, bells at the shoulders, feet wide.
Steps
- Drive both bells up until the elbows lock over the upper chest.
- Keep the hips still at the same height.
- Bring the bells down beside the shoulders slowly.
Common mistakes
Hips rising into a flat bridge: that turns it into the flat press; keep them low. Letting the head hang off the ball: rest the head and upper back on it. Ball creeping backward mid-set: widen the stance and dig the heels in.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale on the press.
