Dumbbell Incline One-Arm Press

The incline dumbbell press one arm at a time; the single bell tries to twist the body, and the trunk holds the chest square.

How to do it

Setup

Bench at 30–45°, one bell at the shoulder, free hand on the bench, feet planted.

Steps

  1. Drive the bell straight up above the collarbone.
  2. Keep both shoulders against the backrest.
  3. Bring it back to the shoulder; do the same set with the other arm.

Common mistakes

Turning the chest toward the bell: shoulders stay flat on the backrest. Pressing toward the face: finish over the collarbone. An upright backrest: past 45° it becomes a shoulder press; lower it.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
