Dumbbell Goblet Split Squat Front Foot Elevated
The split squat with the front foot on a low step and one dumbbell held upright at the chest; the raised front foot lets the hips sink deeper.
How to do it
Setup
Front foot on a low step, back foot a long stride behind on its toes, a dumbbell held vertically at the chest.
Steps
- Sink the back knee toward the floor between the feet.
- Keep the chest tall behind the bell.
- Press up through the front heel without stepping out of the stance.
Common mistakes
Front heel lifting off the step: sit the hips back and down until the whole foot presses. Chest folding over the bell: hold it high and keep the torso upright. Stance too short for the step: lengthen it so the front shin stays near vertical.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
