Dumbbell Cross Romanian Deadlift
The dumbbell Romanian deadlift with a turn: both bells travel diagonally down toward the outside of one foot, the chest rotating with them.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, bells in front of the thighs, feet hip-width, knees soft.
Steps
- Push the hips back and reach both bells toward the outside of one foot.
- Turn the chest with the bells, keeping the back flat.
- Stand by driving the hips forward; finish the side, then switch.
Common mistakes
Twisting from the lower back: the turn comes from the hips and chest; the spine stays long. Rounding to reach the foot: stop where the flat back ends. Going heavy on a rotating hinge: light bells, slow reps.
Breathing
Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
