Dish Hold
Lying on the back, lift the shoulders and the straight legs off the floor with the arms reaching along the sides and the lower back pressed down; the shallow dish is held for time.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, legs long and together, arms by the sides.
Steps
- Press the lower back into the floor and lift the shoulders and the legs.
- Reach the hands toward the feet and hold the dish still.
- Lower slowly when the lower back starts to lift.
Common mistakes
Lower back arching off the floor: lift the legs higher until it presses down. Legs bending or parting: keep them long and together. Chin cranked to the chest: keep the neck long, eyes toward the knees.
Breathing
Short steady breaths; never held.
