Deep Squat Hold
Sink into the deepest squat your heels can stay down in and sit there, elbows pressing the knees apart; the ankles and hips open.

How to do it
Setup
Feet a little wider than the hips, toes turned slightly out, hands together at the chest.
Steps
- Sit down between the heels as deep as you can with the heels staying down.
- Press the knees apart with the elbows and keep the chest up.
- Hold there and let the hips settle lower.
- Stand up through the whole foot.
Common mistakes
Heels lifting: put a rolled towel under them until the ankles open. Rounding the back to sit lower; the chest stays up. Hanging off something with the arms instead of holding your own weight.
Breathing
Breathe slowly and let each exhale drop the hips a little further.
