Criss-Cross Leg Raises
The lying leg raise with the legs crossing over each other, one on top and then the other, as they rise to vertical and lower.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, arms out on the floor, legs straight and together.
Steps
- Raise the straight legs toward vertical, crossing them over each other as they go.
- Switch which leg is on top near the top.
- Lower them slowly, still crossing, until just above the floor.
Common mistakes
Lower back arching as the legs lower: stop them higher. Bending the knees to cross: keep them straight. Rushing the crosses: slow, controlled switches.
Breathing
Exhale as the legs rise, inhale as they lower.
