Countermovement Jump Arms Pull

The countermovement jump with a full arm swing: the arms drive back on the dip and up on the jump, adding height.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, feet hip-width, arms relaxed at the sides.

Steps

  1. Dip to a quarter squat as the arms swing back.
  2. Drive the arms up and jump straight up in one motion.
  3. Land soft on the same spot, hips back and knees over the toes.

Common mistakes

Arms lagging behind the legs: they swing up WITH the jump, not after it. Dipping too deep: a quick quarter squat keeps the spring. Drifting forward in the air: land where you took off.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale landing.
