Cable Twisting Standing Row

One handle rowed from a chest-height pulley in a split stance, the torso turning open as the elbow drives back.

How to do it

Setup

Split stance facing the pulley, one handle at chest height on a long arm.

Steps

  1. Drive the elbow back and let the ribs turn with it.
  2. Stop with the hand at the side of the chest.
  3. Rotate back toward the pulley on the return.

Common mistakes

Hips turning with the chest: the rotation stays above the belt. Pulling with the arm and no turn: the twist is the variant. Front knee locked: soft knees under the turn.

Breathing

Exhale on the row and turn, inhale returning.
