Cable Twisting Standing One-Arm Chest Press
A one-arm cable press that starts with the working shoulder turned back toward the stack and finishes with the torso turned through, the hand reaching forward.
How to do it
Setup
Back to a cable at chest height, split stance, the handle at the chest, torso turned toward the working side.
Steps
- Drive the hand forward while the hips and chest turn to the front.
- Finish with the arm straight and the working shoulder forward.
- Unwind back to the start slowly; switch arms after the set.
Common mistakes
Turning with the shoulders only: the hips start the turn. Arm finishing before the torso: they arrive together. Losing balance on the back foot: widen the stance.
Breathing
Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
