Push-Up with Knee Drive

A push-up followed by one knee driven in toward the chest, the sides taking turns rep by rep.

How to do it

Setup

High plank, hands a little wider than the shoulders, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Do one push-up, chest to just above the floor.
  2. Drive one knee in toward the chest, then step it back.
  3. Push up again and drive the other knee in.

Common mistakes

Hips piking as the knee comes in: keep them level with the shoulders. Rushing the knee drive: controlled, not a sprint. Shoulders drifting behind the hands: keep them over the wrists.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale on the press.
