Grasshopper Push-Up
A push-up that threads one knee under the body toward the opposite side as the chest lowers, the legs taking turns.
How to do it
Setup
Hands a little wider than the shoulders in a high plank, legs long.
Steps
- Bend the elbows and swing one knee under the body toward the opposite side.
- Press back up, bringing the leg back to the plank.
- Repeat with the other knee.
Common mistakes
Dropping the hip to the floor as the knee crosses: keep the body lifted over the hands. Elbows barely bending: take the chest down as the knee threads through. Rushing the switch: set the plank before each rep.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale pressing.
