Cable Stiff-Leg Deadlift from Stepbox
The stiff-legged deadlift on a low cable, standing on a step so the handle can travel below the feet; the deficit gives the hamstrings a longer stretch.
How to do it
Setup
Standing on a step facing the low pulley, feet hip-width, knees soft, the handle in both hands at the thighs.
Steps
- Push the hips back and lower the handle along the shins, knees barely bent.
- Go below the step only as far as the back stays flat.
- Push the hips through to stand tall on the step.
Common mistakes
Rounding the back to reach the extra depth: stop where it stays flat. Locking the knees hard: keep them just soft. Standing so far back that the cable drags the body forward: keep the handle close to the legs.
Breathing
Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
