Kettlebell Kickstand One-Leg Deadlift

The kickstand hinge with one kettlebell held in both hands in front of the working leg; the back foot's toes only steady you while the front leg does the work.

How to do it

Setup

Front foot flat, the back foot's toes down a short step behind, one bell held by the handle in both hands, most of the weight on the front leg.

Steps

  1. Hinge over the front leg, the bell lowering along its shin.
  2. Stop at the front hamstring's stretch with the back flat.
  3. Drive the front hip forward to stand; finish the set, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Shifting weight onto the back foot: it steadies you and nothing more. Front knee caving inward: keep it over the middle toes. Bell drifting away from the shin: keep it close.

Breathing

Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
