Kettlebell Single-Leg Deadlift

The single-leg deadlift with a kettlebell in each hand: hinge on one leg, the free leg reaching back, and stand tall again.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on one leg, knee soft, a kettlebell in each hand at the sides.

Steps

  1. Tip forward from the hip until the trunk and the free leg form one line.
  2. Let both bells hang straight down beside the standing shin.
  3. Squeeze the glute of the standing leg to come back up tall.

Common mistakes

Hips opening toward the free leg: keep both hip points facing the floor. Standing knee locked straight: keep it soft through the hinge. Rounding the back to reach lower: stop where the back stays flat.

Breathing

Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
