Cable Standing Alternate Low Fly
The low-to-high cable fly one arm at a time; each hand sweeps up and in from a low pulley while the other waits by the hip.
How to do it
Setup
Standing between the low pulleys, a handle in each hand beside the hips.
Steps
- Sweep one arm up and in to shoulder height in front of you.
- Lower it as the other arm begins its sweep.
- Keep alternating with the hips and shoulders square.
Common mistakes
Rotating toward the rising hand: brace so only the arm moves. Lifting straight ahead like a front raise: the hand finishes near the midline. The shoulder riding up toward the ear: keep it low as the hand lifts.
Breathing
Exhale on the sweep up, inhale lowering.
