Band Alternate Incline Chest Press with Twist

Alternating one-arm band presses up and forward on an incline, the torso turning so the pressing shoulder comes forward with each rep.

How to do it

Setup

Back to an anchor at chest height, the band's ends at the chest, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Press one hand up and forward, turning that shoulder forward with it.
  2. Bring the hand back to the chest as the torso turns square.
  3. Press with the other hand, turning the other way.

Common mistakes

Turning from the hips and knees: the turn comes from the ribs; the hips face forward. Pressing flat: the hands finish above the shoulders. Rushing the switch: finish each press before the next begins.

Breathing

Exhale on each press, inhale returning.
