Cable One-Arm Pulldown
The single-arm pulldown standing at a high pulley; standing leaves the trunk to hold itself square while one lat pulls.
How to do it
Setup
Standing close to the tower, feet hip-width, one handle taken overhead from the high pulley, arm long.
Steps
- Pull the handle down to the shoulder, elbow to the side of the ribs.
- Squeeze the lat with the ribs down and the hips still.
- Let the arm rise long; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Side-bending toward the handle: stand tall, trunk braced. Shrugging as the arm rises: keep the shoulder away from the ear at the top. Pulling in front of the face: the elbow comes down beside the body.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the stretch.
