Cable One-Arm Press on Stability Ball
A one-arm press from a low pulley with the upper back on a ball and the hips level; the trunk resists being pulled toward the stack.
How to do it
Setup
Ball beside a low pulley, upper back on it, hips level with the knees, handle at the chest.
Steps
- Drive the handle up until the arm is straight above the chest.
- Keep the hips level and both shoulders on the ball.
- Bring the handle back to the chest, then do the other side.
Common mistakes
Rolling toward the pulley: brace and press the far shoulder into the ball. Elbow drifting out to shoulder height: keep it lower, near the ribs. Hips dropping mid-set: keep the bridge.
Breathing
Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
