Bodyweight Side Lying Biceps Curl

Lying on one side with the knees bent, the lower hand holds behind the knees and the arm curls the upper body up toward them.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on one side, knees bent and stacked, the lower hand hooked behind the knees, that arm straight.

Steps

  1. Curl the arm to pull the upper body up toward the knees.
  2. Keep the legs still; they are the anchor.
  3. Lower back down slowly; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Crunching the abs to sit up: let the arm do the pulling. Legs sliding up toward the chest: keep the knees where they are. Dropping back onto the floor: lower as slowly as you curl.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
