Behind-the-Back Wrist Curl

Standing with the bar behind the hips, curl it with the wrists alone; the longer lever makes it harder than the seated version.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, bar behind the hips in a palms-back grip, arms long.

Steps

  1. Let the bar roll to the fingers.
  2. Curl it back up with the wrists.
  3. The arms stay long; only the wrists move.

Common mistakes

Shrugging as the set burns: shoulders stay down. Bending the elbows: long lever is the point. Grip too wide: the bar should sit level.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale on the roll.
