Barbell Incline Wrist Curl with Chest Support

The wrist curl with the chest on an incline pad and the arms hanging straight down; the pad takes the body out, so only the wrists lift the bar.

How to do it

Setup

Chest on the incline pad, arms hanging straight, bar in an underhand grip, palms facing forward.

Steps

  1. Open the hands until the bar hangs on the fingertips.
  2. Close the fingers and bend the wrists to lift the bar.
  3. Pause at the top.

Common mistakes

Rowing the bar up: the elbows stay straight; it is a wrist curl. Chest lifting off the pad: stay down; the support is the point. Bar swinging: slow the lowering until it hangs dead still.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
