Barbell Palms Up Wrist Curl Over a Bench

Kneeling behind a flat bench with the forearms along the pad and the hands past its edge; the bench holds the whole forearm still, so the curl is all wrist.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling behind a flat bench, forearms along the pad, wrists just past the edge, bar held palms up.

Steps

  1. Lower the bar below the bench edge, fingers open.
  2. Close the fingers and curl the bar up above the pad.
  3. Keep the forearms flat on the bench all set.

Common mistakes

Wrists resting on the bench: the edge sits under the forearm, not the joint. Sitting back and dragging the forearms off the pad: stay tall on the knees. Curling only halfway: open the fingers at the bottom, finish high.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
