Barbell Seated Twist (On Stability Ball)

The seated bar twist on a stability ball instead of a bench; the ball rolls unless the feet and hips hold it still through every turn.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on a stability ball, feet wide and flat, a light bar across the upper back.

Steps

  1. Turn the bar to one side without the ball rolling.
  2. Return to the middle and settle for a beat.
  3. Turn to the other side, knees still over the feet.

Common mistakes

Ball rolling with each twist: smaller turns and wider feet. Load too heavy for the ball: start with a light or empty bar. Knees swaying in and out: keep them over the feet.

Breathing

Exhale on each twist, inhale through the middle.
