Band Side Bend
Standing on a band with one end in the hand, bend away from it; the pull grows as the opposite side shortens.
How to do it
Setup
One foot on the band, the other end held in the hand on that side, arm long, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Bend AWAY from the band, straight sideways at the waist.
- Keep the band arm long; it only holds the end.
- Return slowly to upright; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Curling the band up with the arm: the arm is a strap; the waist bends. Twisting as you bend: shoulders stay square to the front. Snapping back to upright: the band wants to throw you; resist it.
Breathing
Exhale bending, inhale rising.
