Barbell Reverse-Grip Incline Row

The chest-supported incline barbell row with the palms facing forward; the underhand grip pulls the elbows back close to the body.

How to do it

Setup

Chest on an incline bench, feet braced, the bar hanging below, held underhand at shoulder width.

Steps

  1. Row the bar toward the belly, elbows tight.
  2. Hold the top for a beat, chest on the bench.
  3. Lower all the way down to a long hang.

Common mistakes

Curling the bar with the arms: the elbows lead back. Chest peeling off the bench: lighter bar. Wrists bent back: straight from forearm to knuckles.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
