Band Straight-Arm Pulldown

The straight-arm pulldown with a band anchored high in front: the arms sweep from eye level to the thighs, and the band pulls hardest at the bottom.

How to do it

Setup

Standing facing the high anchor, a slight hinge, the band's ends in both hands, arms straight at eye level.

Steps

  1. Sweep the straight arms down to the thighs.
  2. Hold the bottom for a beat, where the band pulls hardest.
  3. Let the arms rise back to eye level slowly.

Common mistakes

Elbows bending into a pushdown: the arms stay long. Standing too close to the anchor: step back until the band is taut at the top. Band yanking the arms up: resist the return.

Breathing

Exhale sweeping down, inhale returning.
