Band Step-Up
The step-up against a band pinned under the working foot on the box and held at the shoulders; the band pulls hardest as the leg straightens.
How to do it
Setup
Working foot on a knee-height box, standing on the band, the band's ends held at the shoulders.
Steps
- Drive through the foot on the box and stand tall on it.
- Hold the top for a beat against the band's pull.
- Step down slowly with the free foot; finish the leg, then switch.
Common mistakes
Band slipping off the foot on the box: keep the whole foot on it. Hands drifting off the shoulders: the band must pull straight down. Pushing off the floor foot: it only follows.
Breathing
Exhale stepping up, inhale down.
