Band Single-Leg Calf Raise

The one-leg calf raise against a band under the working foot, held at the hip; the higher the heel, the harder it pulls.

How to do it

Setup

One foot on a low step over the band, its handle in the same-side hand, free hand on a wall.

Steps

  1. Rise on the working foot, the band hand fixed at the hip.
  2. Hold the top for a beat against the band.
  3. Lower the heel below the step; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Band hand riding up with the rise: pin it at the hip. Pushing off the wall: the free hand only steadies. Half reps on top of the step: drop the heel below the edge.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
