Band Reverse Crunch

Lying with a band from a low anchor looped around the ankles, raise the legs to vertical and curl the hips up against its pull.

How to do it

Setup

On your back, feet toward a rack, a band from its base around both ankles, arms long by the sides.

Steps

  1. Bend the knees and draw them up, then straighten the legs toward vertical.
  2. Curl the hips off the floor at the top.
  3. Lower the legs slowly against the band to the floor.

Common mistakes

Band slack at the bottom: lie far enough away that it pulls with the legs flat. Lower back arching as the legs lower: press it down and stop higher. Kicking the legs up: lift them under control.

Breathing

Exhale curling up, inhale lowering.
