Band Lunge

Stand on the band with the front foot and hold the loop at the shoulders; the band pulls hardest as you drive back up to standing.

How to do it

Setup

Stand on the band with your front foot, the loop over the shoulders; feet a stride apart, torso tall.

Steps

  1. Lower the back knee toward the floor without letting it touch down.
  2. Drive up through the front heel – the band fights hardest at the top.
  3. Keep the front shin close to vertical, the knee tracking over the toes.
  4. Do every rep on one leg, then move the band under the other foot.

Common mistakes

Standing on the band with the back foot: it goes under the FRONT one, or there is nothing to lift. Front knee caving inward: push it out over the toes. Leaning forward to stand up; the chest stays tall the whole way.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
