Overhead Squat
Bar locked out overhead in a wide snatch grip: squat to full depth keeping the bar over the middle of the foot; the shoulders and trunk hold the line.

How to do it
Setup
Bar locked out overhead in a wide snatch grip, feet shoulder-width, armpits turned forward.
Steps
- Squat to full depth keeping the bar over the middle of the foot.
- Push up into the bar the whole way down and up.
- Drive up through the whole foot.
Common mistakes
Bar drifting forward: the shoulders stop pushing; press up into it and keep the chest tall. Heels rising: the stance is too narrow or the ankles too stiff; widen the feet, turn the toes out. Going heavy before the position is there: this squat is a mobility test first; an empty bar is a full workout.
Breathing
Big breath at the top, exhale past the sticking point.
