Band Kneeling Rear Kick

On the forearms and knees, one leg kicks back and up against a tube band whose handles stay pinned under the hands.

How to do it

Setup

Forearms and knees on a mat, the band's handles under the hands, its middle around one foot.

Steps

  1. Kick the foot back and up until the leg is straight.
  2. Stop with the leg in line with the torso.
  3. Bend it back in under control; finish the side.

Common mistakes

Arching the lower back for height: the leg stops at torso level. Handles slipping out from under the hands: press them down. Snapping the knee straight: extend it smoothly.

Breathing

Exhale on the kick, inhale bending back.
