Band Pull-Through

The pull-through with a band anchored low behind you in place of a cable; the band pulls hardest as you stand, where the glutes finish the rep.

How to do it

Setup

Back to a low anchor, a band running between the legs to both hands, a step or two out, knees soft.

Steps

  1. Let the band draw the hips back into a hinge, back flat.
  2. Drive the hips forward to stand tall against the pull.
  3. Squeeze the glutes at the top; the arms stay long.

Common mistakes

Standing too close to the anchor: the band goes slack at the bottom; step out. Pulling the band up with the arms: the hips do the work. Knees bending into a squat: they stay soft, the hips travel back.

Breathing

Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
