Arm Crossover

A standing warm-up: the straight arms swing out wide, then cross in front of the chest, one on top and then the other.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, feet hip-width, arms out to the sides at shoulder height.

Steps

  1. Swing the arms across the chest, the right on top.
  2. Swing them back out wide until the chest opens.
  3. Cross again with the left on top; keep alternating.

Common mistakes

Flinging the arms back hard at the start: build the range over the first swings. Arms sagging below shoulder height: keep them level. Twisting the torso with the swing: the hips face forward.

Breathing

Steady with the rhythm.
