Wall Pulse

Leaning into a wall with the hands high above the head, the elbows bend and straighten through a short range; a gentle triceps press that never lets the arms rest.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a wall a step away, palms on it above the head, body leaning in, heels down.

Steps

  1. Bend the elbows a little to bring the chest closer to the wall.
  2. Straighten them just short of lockout to push back.
  3. Keep the pulses short and steady for the whole set.

Common mistakes

Letting the hips sag toward the wall: the body stays one line. Locking the elbows between pulses: stay just short so the triceps keep working. Hands creeping down the wall: keep them above the head.

Breathing

Steady with the rhythm.
