Wall-Facing Single-Leg Split Handstand Hold
A handstand held with the chest to the wall and the toes on it, then one leg comes off the wall so the legs split front and back.
How to do it
Setup
Handstand facing the wall, hands a short way from it, the body straight with the toes resting on the wall.
Steps
- Stack the shoulders over the wrists and squeeze the legs together.
- Take one leg off the wall and split it away, the other toe staying on the wall.
- Bring the leg back to the wall, then switch legs.
Common mistakes
Banana back as the leg leaves the wall: ribs in and glutes tight. Shoulders drifting behind the hands: push tall through the shoulders. Hands too far from the wall: walk them in so the body stays nearly vertical.
Breathing
Steady small breaths.
