Handstand Hold on Wall
The handstand held with the back to a wall and the heels resting on it, so the wall takes the balance and the shoulders take the time.
How to do it
Setup
Hands shoulder-width a short step from the wall, fingers spread; kick up so the heels come to rest on the wall.
Steps
- Push the floor away until the arms are straight and the shoulders open.
- Squeeze the legs together and keep the ribs in, only the heels touching the wall.
- Hold and breathe; come down one leg at a time.
Common mistakes
Hands too far from the wall: the back arches into a banana; set them a short step out. Resting the whole back on the wall: only the heels touch; hold the line yourself. Shoulders sinking toward the floor: push tall through straight arms.
Breathing
Steady small breaths.
