Wall Assisted Handstand to Tuck Planche Negative
From a handstand against a wall, lower slowly into a tuck over the hands, the knees folding to the chest as the feet slide down the wall.
How to do it
Setup
Hands on the floor a short way from a wall, kicked up to a handstand with the heels resting on the wall.
Steps
- Lean the shoulders forward over the hands as the knees start to bend.
- Fold the knees to the chest slowly, the feet sliding down the wall.
- Stop in the tuck with the hips over the hands, then come down to the floor.
Common mistakes
Trying it before a steady wall handstand: build the handstand hold first. Dropping into the tuck: the lowering is the exercise; take it slowly. Shoulders staying behind the hands: they lean forward as the hips come down.
Breathing
Steady small breaths.
