Vertical Sit-Up

An upside-down sit-up: hanging head-down with the knees hooked over the rollers of a vertical station, curl the chest up toward the knees and lower.

How to do it

Setup

Knees hooked over the rollers at the top of a vertical sit-up station, hanging head down, fingertips behind the head.

Steps

  1. Curl the chest up toward the knees.
  2. Pause at the top without pulling on the head.
  3. Lower slowly back to the full hang.

Common mistakes

Swinging to get up: start each rep from a still hang. Knees slipping on the rollers: lock them over the pads before every set. Staying upside down too long: come down between sets.

Breathing

Exhale curling up, inhale lowering.
