V-Up Double Crunch
From lying flat with the arms overhead, the straight legs rise to vertical as the upper body curls up and the hands reach the toes.
How to do it
Setup
Flat on your back, legs long on the floor, arms stretched overhead.
Steps
- Lift the straight legs to vertical as the shoulders curl up.
- Reach the hands to the toes, the hips staying on the floor.
- Lower the torso and the legs back to the floor under control.
Common mistakes
Hips rolling up off the floor at the top: the seat stays down and the legs stop at vertical. Swinging the arms to get up: the abs lift, the arms follow. Crashing down: lower both ends slowly.
Breathing
Exhale on the crunch, inhale lowering.
