TRX Lat Stretch (Sitting Back)

Holding both TRX handles overhead on straight arms, sit the hips back and down; the lats lengthen as the body hangs from the straps.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the TRX anchor, a handle in each hand overhead, arms straight, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Sit the hips back and down, heels on the floor.
  2. Let the arms go long overhead until the sides of the back stretch.
  3. Hold and breathe, then stand up by driving through the legs.

Common mistakes

Letting the straps go slack: stay far enough back to keep them taut. Bending the elbows: keep the arms straight so the lats take the stretch. Dropping into the bottom: lower slowly and stop at a firm pull.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
