Standing Single-Leg Concentration Calf Raise

The one-leg calf raise in a split stance, the front foot on a step, leaning on a chair so the weight sits over it.

How to do it

Setup

Hands on a chair back, front foot on a step, back leg long behind on its toes.

Steps

  1. Shift the weight forward and rise onto the front foot.
  2. Squeeze at the top; the back foot only balances.
  3. Drop the front heel below the step, then repeat.

Common mistakes

Pushing off the back foot: it rests and lifts nothing. Leaning so hard the calf goes light: the hands only steady. Stopping level with the step: let the heel drop below it.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
