Standing Raised Leg Hip Adductor Stretch

Standing side-on to a box with one straight leg resting on it out to the side, lean the trunk over that leg; the inner thigh of the raised leg stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Standing side-on to a box about hip height, one straight leg resting on it out to the side, the standing foot pointing forward.

Steps

  1. Reach one hand along the raised leg and lean the trunk over it.
  2. Keep both legs straight and the hips facing forward until the inner thigh pulls.
  3. Hold and breathe, then lift the leg down and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Box higher than the hips allow: use a lower one until the inner thigh gives. Standing foot turning out: keep it pointing forward, knee straight. Rounding over the leg: lean from the hips with the back long.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
