Standing Chest Stretch against Door
Standing beside a door with one straight arm out at shoulder height and the palm flat on it, turn the chest away until the front of the shoulder and the chest stretch.
How to do it
Setup
Standing side-on to a door, the near arm straight out at shoulder height, the palm flat on the door, the other arm relaxed.
Steps
- Keep the palm fixed and the elbow straight.
- Turn the chest slowly away from the arm until the stretch builds.
- Hold and breathe, then turn around and switch arms.
Common mistakes
Hand sliding up the door: keep it at shoulder height. Shoulder rolling forward as you turn: draw it back and down first. Turning so far the front of the shoulder pinches: turn back until the stretch sits in the chest.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
